Swami Swaroopananda

Swami Swaroopananda is a senior disciple of Swami Vishnudevananda. A practicing yogi from a very young age, Swami Swaroopananda has dedicated his life to the practice and teaching of yoga. He taught in Yoga Teacher Training Courses around the world and is currently teaching advanced yoga philosophy courses and lectures internationally. He is the director of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat and the Acharya for the Sivananda centers and ashrams on the West Coast of the United States, the Middle East, and the Bahamas. He is a member of the board of directors of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers.

Stephen Sinatra

Stephen T. Sinatra, MD, is a highly respected and sought-after cardiologist and the founder of the New England Heart Center. He advocates combining conventional medical treatments for heart disease with complementary nutritional, anti-aging, and psychological therapies. Dr. Sinatra’s expertise is grounded in more than 30 years of clinical practice, research, and study that three times has earned him the American Medical Association’s Physician Recognition Award. Joyce Hawkes

Joyce Hawkes, PhD, is a biophysicist and cell-biologist, who was honored with a National Achievement Award for her work. Over the course of 15 years, she has earned an international reputation for her scientific contributions in the field of ultra high-speed laser effects on cells, and the effects of environmental pollutants on cells. Following a near-death experience in 1984, Joyce changed careers and embarked on extensive exploration of indigenous spiritual and healing traditions, which she incorporated in her first book, Cell-Level Healing: The Bridge from Soul to Cell. Dr. Hawkes is the founder of Healing Arts Associates and maintains a private practice in Seattle.

Claudia Welch

Claudia Welch is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine and a practitioner of Ayurvedic medicine. She lectures on Oriental and Ayurvedic medicines internationally and brings a depth of knowledge and a sense of joy to her presentations. Dr. Welch is an author of Eastern medicine and philosophy, including her new book, Balance Your Hormones, Balance Your Life, a look at women’s health that offers a combined perspective from Western science, Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Timothy McCall

Timothy McCall, M.D. is a board-certified internist and the Medical Editor of Yoga Journal. A Yoga practitioner from 1995, Dr. McCall travels regularly to India to research yoga, yoga therapy and Ayurveda, and to study with a traditional Ayurvedic Vaidhya (doctor) in Kerala and a Tantric master in Bangalore. His main focus since the year 2000 has been investigating the therapeutic aspects of yoga, as well as the scientific explanations of yoga’s effects. Dr. McCall lectures internationally and is the author of Yoga as Medicine: The Yogic Prescription for Health and Healing and Examining Your Doctor: A Patient’s Guide to Avoiding Harmful Medical Care.

Marc Halpern (Siva)

Dr. Marc Halpern D.C., C.A.S., P.K.S., Sivananda yoga teacher, is one of the most respected teachers of Ayurvedic Medicine in the United States. Founder and President of the California College of Ayurveda and co-founder of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association and the California Association of Ayurvedic medicine, Dr. Halpern has been instrumental in bringing Ayurvedic medicine to the West. Adhi Moonien Two Owls
