Research studies have overwhelmingly shown that yoga and mindfulness can impact on heart disease and on health in general. If you have heart disease, diabetes, and/or high blood pressure we invite you to come to this exciting 2-day retreat and learn how Yoga can reverse and prevent heart disease and impact on your overall health status.
This health retreat on Cardiac Medical Yoga will cover the basic concepts of Mind-Body Medicine along with an understanding of the theory and practice of medical yoga, mindfulness meditation, guided imagery and breathing strategies. Participants will learn how to decrease the stress response and how to use yoga to improve flexibility, balance and exercise capacity. During the Medical Yoga retreat we will provide you with background information on the health benefits of yoga and will share information on research studies showing that yoga can reverse and prevent Coronary Heart Disease. Participants will have a high quality experience of yoga, relaxation, and mindfulness practices that will be taught individually and in small groups. Participants will learn how to manage stress, anxiety and depression and will be provided with a daily practice of Yoga and Mindfulness. Dr. Cunningham will be assisted by her students who are being certified in Cardiac Medical Yoga.

- An understanding of how to implement a daily Medical Yoga practice
