The purpose of this course is to introduce those who are first time visitors to a Sivananda Ashram to the daily routine, the basic practices and the philosophy of yoga as taught by Swami Sivananda. This yoga was brought to the West by one of Swami Sivananda’s foremost disciples, Swami Vishnudevananda, who condensed the teachings into the Five Points of Yoga: proper exercise, proper breathing, proper relaxation, proper diet, and positive thinking and meditation. Through the study of such teachings, you will gain access to the wisdom of an ancient lineage, and experience the transformative power of the practice.
