The Power of Hatha Yoga

During this three-day course, Shyam and Mohini will focus on hatha yoga as a sacred science of transcendence, using the physical to go beyond the physical. Yoga postures (asanas) and yogic breathing exercises (pranayama) yield many benefits, among them a more youthful and flexible body, better overall physical health, longer life, and increased calmness and sharpness of mind. To the yogis, however, these almost miraculous dividends are only side effects of the practice, the real purpose of which is to lead us to a state of meditation, and through meditation to ultimate truth. 


In this course for new yoga students and those looking to deepen their practice, these two gifted teachers will systematically guide you through the asanas of the Sivananda hatha yoga sequence in specialized workshops, exploring the beauty and benefits of each asana and leaving you feeling rejuvenated and inspired. You will learn how to incorporate yoga into your busy life, explore the benefits of deep relaxation, and gain tools to continue your practice at home. Through the beautiful natural surroundings and daily spiritual rhythms of the ashram, you will embark on a spiritual yoga journey toward truth.
