Description

The yogic rules of social and personal conduct are called yamas and niyamas: they are the first two steps of the Raja Yoga system and the foundation of spiritual life on which the superstructure of meditation is built. Yamas and niyamas annihilate desires, cravings, and negative qualities, removing harshness, violence, and cruelty from the personality. Their practice will gradually melt the heart and fill it with love, kindness, and goodness.
