Course Details
To attain lasting happiness and absolute peace, we must first know how to calm the mind, to concentrate and eventually to transcend the mind. By turning the mind inward, we deepen our concentration and attain a state of meditation. This course is specially designed for those who wish to develop and deepen their meditation practice. Those new to meditation are also welcome to join. During these five days you will learn about the nature of the mind and how to develop concentration and inner stability. You will be guided in basic meditation techniques with the aim of helping you attain a daily practice. You will gain the inspiration and clarity needed to take home a meditation practice that brings peace, harmony and contentment to your life.

Presenter
Swami Brahmananda
Swami Brahmananda is the manager of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat and a senior member of staff of the Sivananda International Vedanta Center organisation. He is a long-time practitioner of yoga. He has regularly been teaching yoga philosophy and meditation at Sivananda Yoga Vedanta centers and on Sivananda Teacher Training Courses and Advanced Teacher Training Courses. He is a much-loved, inspiring and knowledgeable teacher.
Prerequisite
The course is open to anyone who would like to move deeper into meditation.
Certification
Graduates of this course will receive certifcation from the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat .

Arrival and Departure
The course begins at 11:00am on the first day and finishes at 6:00pm on
the last day. Please plan to arrive at the Yoga Retreat at least one day before the start of the course and to leave at least one day after the course completion.
We recommend that you spend at least a few days in the Yoga Retreat before the start of your course. This allows your body and mind time to rest, re-energise and be nourished by the ashram environment. You can then begin your study feeling relaxed and refreshed. You may also wish to stay for some days after the end of the course to allow the learning from your study to integrate more fully into your consciousness within the supportive environment of the ashram. If you decide to arrive early and to stay longer, please register for the Yoga Vacation Program for those additional days.
