Retreat Details
This retreat is open to open to all who are looking to overcome self-destructive or addictive tendencies and people with family members/histories of addiction. Every age group and all addictive and self-destructive tendencies are addressed. We require alcohol/chemically dependent guests to have at least 3 months of continuous sobriety. Those with eating disorders and behavioral addictions (relationships, gambling, spending etc.) should have enough stability to embark on this work. You do not need to be a yoga practitioner to come on the retreat. Although the teaching makes reference to the 12 steps, Yoga of Recovery is an independent retreat for people in recovery, it is not affiliated with any 12 step program and it is not a requirement that guests are member of 12 step programs. Attendance at the open 12 step meeting offered is optional.

Durga (Catherine O'Neill)
Durga (Catherine O'Neill)has been involved with the 12 Step Fellowship for
over 8 years. She has developed the "Yoga of Recovery" programs and led
retreats internationally since then. She is a RYT-500, having completed both
the Sivananda Yoga teachers Training Course and the Advanced Yoga Training.
She is also extensively trained in meditation and Vedanta.Durga is a
Clinical Ayurvedic and Pancha Karma Specialist, trained at the California
College of Ayurveda and also in Kerala, India. She is the Director of the
Ayurveda Programs at the Yoga Farm in California and leads several Ayurvedic
Retreats at International Sivananda Yoga Ashrams.
Prerequisite
Open to everyone - especially beneficial to those
overcoming addiction and self-destructive behaviors and people with family
members/histories of addiction. We require alcohol/chemically dependent
guests to have at least 3 months of continuous sobriety.
Certification
No certification is issued on this Retreat. 100-hour Yoga
Alliance Certification and CEUs are available on the
Yoga of Recovery for
Counselors Certificate Training Course. The 10-day certificate course is for therapists, social workers, addiction counselors, sponsors, yoga teachers, Ayurvedic practitioners etc. All health professionals dealing with people who are recovering from addiction. Please note that for those who work with addicted clients, a great benefit is gained from attending the retreat and the course together. The course is offered immediately
after this retreat.

Tuition: US$450. Add 8 nights accommodation.

Arrival and Departure
The course begins at 11:00am on the first day and ends at
6:00pm on the last day. Please plan to arrive at the Yoga Retreat at least one
day before the start of the course and to leave at least one day after the
course completion.
We recommend that you spend at least a few days in the Yoga Retreat before the start of your course. This allows your body and mind time to rest, re-energize and be nourished by the ashram environment. You can then begin your study feeling relaxed and refreshed. You may also wish to stay for some days after the end of the course to allow the learning from your study to integrate more fully into your consciousness within the supportive environment of the ashram. If you decide to arrive early and to stay longer, please register for the Yoga Vacation Program for those additional days.
