Course Details

This course will introduce participants to the imagery of the chakras (psychic energy centers), taking chakras as the stage upon which the interaction between higher consciousness and desire get played out. These subtle centers of transformation will be experienced through painting and visualization. Participants will learn the imagery, colors, elements, deities and mantras associated with each chakra. Painting the chakra in a prescribed order, a form of meditation harmonizes the entire system and activates these centers of transformative energy.

Mavis Gewant is a disciple of the great Tantric Master, Sri Harish Johari. She is an artist who specializes in the ancient techniques of yantra, deity, and chakra painting. Curriculum

Detailed descriptions of each chakra

Understanding the play of elements and colors

In depth study of imagery and symbolism

Learn the Bidj mantras (sacred sounds) for each chakra

Integration of visual imagery and mantra

Exploration of the Deities and their meanings

Individual help in picking out the chakra based on student’s current need

Students will spend most of the time painting their chakra while engaged in mantra

Experience the “sounds of the chakras “ through painting

Meditation techniques

1:30 – 2:00 Break

2:00- 4:00 Class meeting, painting
