The Forgotten Path of Christian Spirituality: Can We Speak of a Christian Yoga?

Kyriacos C. Markides
December 19 - 22, 2009
Event Details
It is commonly believed that Christianity,
unlike Eastern religions like Hinduism and Buddhism,
lacks an experiential method for the attainment of God
realization. It has also been assumed that disciplined
and systematic meditative practices are the exclusive domain
of Eastern yogis, lamas and mystics. In this workshop Professor Kyriacos
C. Markides, based on a thirty-year exploration into the
lives of contemporary Christian mystics and saints, will
show us that there is a well integrated Christian
tradition of spiritual practices and methods that can lead
to self transcendence and union with God.
