Thai Yoga massage is an interactive yoga therapy that relieves muscular tension, improves circulation, boosts the immune system, and balances the body energetically, facilitating mind-body integration. This program provides a strong foundation in the key elements of Thai Yoga massage and prepares students to perform a full 90 minute customized Thai Yoga massage session (or an expanded 2½ hour Thai Yoga massage session in Level II).

Curriculum
• Utilize key stances (practitioner postures) • Incorporate effortless, flowing transitions between postures • Use safety precautions for preventing injury • Apply energy balance through acupressure and the Thai Sen (energy line) system • Evaluate the needs of the recipient and customize the massage accordingly • Perform an expanded 2½ hour Thai yoga massage with advanced postures • Integrate metta (loving kindness) and meditation into your practice |

Teachers' Biographies

Kam Thye Chow pioneered a methodology that combines Thai Yoga massage with its Ayurvedic roots. He currently teaches this methodology throughout the world. In 1995 he founded the Lotus Palm School, the first school to promote and teach the art of Thai Yoga massage in Quebec. He is the author of the bestselling book Thai Yoga Massage (Inner Traditions, 2002) and Thai Yoga Therapy for your Body Type: An Ayurvedic Tradition. Certification
Graduates earn a co-certification from the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat and the Lotus Palm School. To become a certified Lotus Palm practitioner, students will have to perform 30 documented Thai Yoga massages after completing Levels I and II.
Prerequisite This program is appropriate for yoga practitioners and teachers, massage therapists, and anyone in good health. Participants in Level II must have completed Level I with Lotus Palm School.
Continuing Education Units (CEUs) Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are available with the NCBTMB, FMQ, CMTO and other leading massage bodies in North America. Each level is recognized by the Yoga Alliance for 37.5 CEUs. Participants are eligible to join various massage associations and to obtain license to practice.
Cost
- Level I only: US$525 plus 7 nights accommodation (see rates).
- Level II only: US$525 plus 7 nights accommodation (see rates)
- Levels I and II: US$940 plus 13 nights accommodation (see rates)
Arrival and Departure Information
Level I will start at 11:00am on March
1 and will finish at 6:00pm on March 6. Level
II will start at 11:00am on March 8 and will finish at 6:00pm on March 13.
You are welcome to arrive earlier or stay after the course finishes for a yoga vacation or for further study.
