Planning Your Next Visit to the Yoga Retreat

Accommodation |

Pleasant, simple lodgings include a choice of single, double and luxury double rooms overlooking the ocean, or comfortable cabins clustered around an oriental-style footbridge. Some rooms have air conditioning and private bathroom- please inquire for availability. Tents may be pitched in a shady coconut grove. Advanced reservation is necessary. As some categories of accommodation fill quickly, we recommend that you reserve early.

Children |
|
Families with children are always welcome at the Yoga Retreat. Parents are expected to provide supervision for their children. Please see rates for children's accommodation rates. |

Meals |
|
Menus are vegetarian, simple, nutritious... and good tasting! Prepared with love and care according to yogic dietary principles, two buffet style, lacto-vegetarian meals are served daily. Absent from the menu are meat, fish, fowl, eggs, garlic, onions, tea and coffee. |

What to bring |
|
Casual comfortable clothes, yoga mat, meditation cushion, meditation shawl, toiletries, slip-on sandals, clothing for warm days and cool mornings/evenings, rainwear, flashlight, insect repellent, alarm clock, travel mug/tumbler, water bottle, sunscreen, beach towel and bathing suit, snorkeling equipment. For tent space only: bring your own tent, bedding, and towels.

Boutique, Bookstore, and Health Hut |
|
The ashram boutique is open daily from November to May, offering an extensive selection of spiritual books, cassettes and CDs, clothing for yoga classes, yoga mats, meditation cushions, other yoga-related items, gifts, and spiritual paintings. Certain food supplements, toiletries, notebooks and pens are also available. The Health Hut offers naturals snacks and drinks.

How to get here |
|
|
Fly directly to Nassau International Airport. (Please contact your local Bahamian Consulate to verify if you require a visa to enter the Bahamas). At the airport: After collecting your luggage and passing through customs, call the Yoga Retreat on telephone number 363-2902 to let us know that you are on your way. Take a taxi to the Mermaid Dock (on bay street, next to VIP restaurant). Our boat will be there to pick you up and take you to the ashram which is located about five minutes boat ride from the Mermaid Dock.

Helpful Reminders |
|
In order to maintain the proper atmosphere, attendance at the two daily satsangs and both asana classes is mandatory. Non-vegetarian food, drugs, alcohol and tobacco are not permitted on the premises. We also request that you be prepared to maintain silence from 10pm to 8am daily. Accommodations are simple, most without private bathrooms and air conditioning. Sheets and blankets are provided for use in the rooms only. We ask that you bring your own beach towel and exercise mat from home. Students and guests are responsible for personal belongings and valuables. There are no safety deposit boxes available at the ashram.

How to Register

Please register on-line or print the application form for Yoga Vacations and fax it to the Yoga Retreat at fax number: 1-242-363-3783. Then call us to give a credit card deposit and to confirm your reservation at 1-866-446-5934 or 1-242-363-2902. A US$100 deposit is required for all Yoga Vacation reservations. A US$150 deposit is required to reserve your place on all other courses, retreats and programs. The balance is due upon arrival. For our cancellation policy please see cancellations.
