Learn the classical, energetic-based model of Yoga Therapy. Transform your life, your yoga practice, and your career with the healing principles of Ayurveda.
Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy is an Advanced Yoga Teacher Training Program for yogis of all traditions and levels in which you will learn how to create healing yoga classes for yourself and your students based on Ayurvedic principles.
In this in-depth 2-week program, you will learn to recognize the unique nature of individuals based on the doshas, qualities, elements, chakras, nadis, vayus, and more. This program is deeply rooted in the yogic classics Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Gheranda Samhita, and the Siva Samhita, all of which have a heavy emphasis on an energetic model.
In addition to learning how to apply this knowledge to others, this program provides an opportunity for a transformational personal journey within, allowing you to explore your own Ayurvedic constitution and create a lifestyle that leads to inner peace and healing.
Certified Ayurvedic Yoga Therapists play an integral role in the healing process of their students and can work by themselves or alongside Ayurvedic practitioners, medical doctors, and other health-care professionals. This certification course trains yoga teachers and Ayurvedic practitioners to provide personalized yoga therapy programs and to conduct dosha-specific yoga classes and individual sessions. The course curriculum includes the diagnosis of constitution (prakuti) and the current state of the doshas (vikruti). Students will study the energetics of each asana and pranayama through an understanding of the nadis, chakras, and vayus of the body.
Topics of study:
The first four days of this training focus on foundational training in Ayurveda, including the essentials of its theory and practice. As a result, Ayurvedic Practitioners who have attended a NCAE accredited or NAMA approved school may optionally skip the first part of the program and arrive by noon on day 4 (March 7).
This program qualifies for 120 hours of Yoga Alliance Continuing Education credit.
“This deeply transformational program consistently offers an experience beyond measure for the participants. Hearts open, minds expand, consciousness transforms. Asana practice expands into a whole new dimension. The beautiful, deeply spiritual ashram environment provides the perfect yogic setting which lovingly supports personal and professional transformation.” —Marisa Laursen
