“Asanas are not just physical exercise.” — Swami Vishnudevananda

Swami Vishnudevananda taught that hatha yoga leads to samadhi (super conscious state) through the control of prana, the life force. In this course, designed for yoga teachers and serious practitioners who want to deepen their practice, you will explore the effect of the conscious practice of the 12 Sivananda Yoga postures on the physical, astral, and causal bodies. Come experience how the practice naturally brings asana to pranayama (breath), to pratyahara (sense withdrawal), to dharana (concentration), to dhyana (meditation), and finally to the real Self.

Arjuna is a direct disciple of Swami Vishnudevananda and the director of Yoga Sivananda, an affiliated-Sivananda Yoga Center in Gatineau, Quebec. He has been a professional vegetarian cook for 25 years and has been teaching family yoga programs in Sivananda centers and ashrams for many years. Arjuna’s approach is dynamic, personal, and inspiring, and includes many instructive stories from his time spent with Swami Vishnudevananda.
