Regard Persan was founded by three Irano-Canadian musicians as an innovative concept for its members to explore new sounds of Persian music through their respective instruments. Playing between tradition and modernity, the trio was born in 2013 and has performed in Canada, Europe, and China.

The tanbur (the preferred instrument of Kurdish dervishes) is played by Pooria Pournazeri, the heir of a great family of musicians. Saeed Kamjoo plays the gheychak (a string instrument used by the Qalandars of Baluchistan) and the kamancheh. Ziya Tabassian assumes the rhythmic colors of the ensemble as the percussionist. Together they create contemporary, creative sounds that invite the audience to travel along with their music.
