Roshi Pat Enkyo O’Hara is the abbot of the Village Zendo in downtown Manhattan. A Soto Zen priest and contemporary American Zen teacher, she integrates traditional meditation and koan practice with social engagement and peacemaking. A founding teacher of the Zen Peacemaker Order initiated by Roshi Bernie Glassman, she taught for many years at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, centering on new media technologies and social justice. Roshi O’Hara is author of Most Intimate, A Zen Approach to Life’s Challenges, and her writing has appeared in Tricycle, Turning Wheel, Shambhala Sun, Buddhadharma and other Buddhist journals.
During these two weeks we bring together teachers from the Sivananda tradition and diverse faiths and lineages to exchange and share, to learn from each other.
