Need A Few Reasons to Study Here?

Surrounded by natural beauty

You arrive at the ashram on a short 5-minute boat ride from across the bay from Nassau to find yourself in an island paradise of palm trees and tropical flowers.

We are situated between the bay on one side and the Caribbean-blue ocean on the other. You'll spend a lot of time outdoors, nourished by the rich life-force energies of nature.

Vitality through daily practice

In addition to your training, you immerse in the daily practices of a yogic lifestyle:

  • asana posture practice
  • pranayama breathing exercises
  • conscious relaxation
  • traditional yogic diet
  • positive thinking and meditation

Yoga for everyone

While you are here, you are encouraged to participate in daily yoga classes. Two-hour Sivananda Yoga classes are offered in the morning and the afternoon, providing everyone with the opportunity to practice.

The classical sequence of Sivananda Yoga is designed to be easily practiced at home and can be adapted to each person's circumstances.

Inspiration beyond your training

The ashram provides a rich tapestry of evening community gatherings that feature presentations with senior ashram staff, leading spiritual teachers, thought leaders, cutting-edge scientists, and inspiring performers. All students experience these as part of their training courses at the ashram.

Unity in diversity

The Sivananda lineage is rooted in the teaching that we are all one and we welcome people from all walks of life, religions, and traditions. The ashram serves as an international gathering place for spiritual exchange and study where people can meet kindred spirits from around the world.

You can change the world

Our mission to bring peace to the world through the teachings of yoga and Vedanta. In the professional trainings and certifications that we offer, students are empowered to awaken inner peace and healing and join the increasing numbers of holistic practitioners who create true change in the world.
